2.1.3 The actor as a stick figure relative to the stage: the geometry of standing

We model the actor as a stick figure on the stage.

Diagram 2: A frontal view of the stick figure representing the actor

The actor is represented as a stick figure with simple straight-line bones and with joints connecting the bones. The bones are cylinders (arms and legs), or boxes (hips, shoulders, feet, and head).

There are xx separately movable bones (including the ribcage and shoulders as a single rigid box). Treating left and right bones as having the same measures, there are 35 bone-related dimensions. Counting the joints by planes of rotation, there are 40 such distinct joint-rotation planes.
