2.3.4 The timing of walking: coordinating the movements of the two legs

The two movements have to be coordinated, where the weighted leg starts at the front and the unweighted leg starts at the back.

Diagram 3: Almost final position of the movement
Diagram 4: Final position of the movement

The resultant movement should be continuous, where the front leg takes the weight just as the back leg is unweighted by bending the knee.
